LIMA, OH – Jeff Sites, a Democratic veteran and warehouse manager who is challenging Rep. Jim Jordan in the Ohio Fourth Congressional District, today announced he has earned the endorsement of Backroads PAC, a leading organization dedicated to electing Democrats from rural America. Sites is the first challenger to secure support from Backroads this election cycle.
“Rural communities have been sold out by career politicians like Jim Jordan for decades, and we’ve had enough,” said Sites. “We deserve a congressman who will stand up for Ohio’s farms and small towns, not the elites and the big donors. I’m honored to have the support of Backroads as we fight to make rural America heard for a change.”
“Jeff Sites is the candidate who can defeat Jim Jordan and give the people of Ohio’s Fourth Congressional District a voice in Washington,” said Backroads President Tedra Cobb. “In Congress, Jeff will fight for good jobs, health care everyone can afford, and better opportunities for all of our children. I am proud to make Jeff Sites Backroads PAC’s first challenger endorsement of the 2022 cycle.”
Sites is developing a dedicated rural outreach program and is committed to running voter registration drives throughout northwest Ohio. He aims to build grassroots strength in places Democratic candidates too often ignore.
“Farmers are losing crops to climate change and taking second jobs to get health insurance. Small towns are seeing their hospitals close, seeing their kids leave because there just aren’t good-paying jobs here,” said Sites. “These are the kitchen table issues for families in this district, and it’s time someone spoke to them.
“I’m ready to listen. I’m ready to lead on single-payer health care, rural broadband, climate action and green jobs. And I’m ready to get to work for ordinary Ohioans.”
The endorsement is the latest sign of growing momentum for Sites, who last week won national plaudits for his first ad of the campaign. Sites has raised more than $100,000 from more than 2,750 donors in all 50 states and the District of Columbia since the release of “Every Morning,” which has been viewed more than 850,000 times across all social media platforms.
